Webster Fire Department Commends Rescuers Following Vehicle Submersion Incident
On December 23, at 11:48 a.m., the Webster Fire Department was dispatched to 1042 Ridge Road for a report of an occupied motor vehicle that had entered a pond.
First-arriving fire units were on scene within three minutes and observed four individuals in the water actively assisting the driver from the vehicle and toward the shoreline, just prior to the vehicle becoming fully submerged.
The individuals involved in the rescue included one Webster Police Officer, one Town of Webster employee, and two civilian bystanders. Their swift response and personal courage directly resulted in the successful rescue of the driver.
The driver was subsequently transported by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation. Non-life-threatening injuries were reported.
