WEBSTER, N.Y. — A man is dead after his car slammed into a utility pole and caught fire in Webster on Thursday morning.
The crash happened just after 5 a.m. at the intersection of Holt and Ridge roads. The man was the only one inside the car and the impact knocked over power lines. Webster Police said that, when they arrived, the engine compartment was fully engulfed in flames and the flames were headed to the cabin.
First responders pulled the man from the car and performed CPR. He was rushed to Strong Hospital with severe injuries, where he died. Police are waiting to notify the man’s family before releasing his name and age.
