It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Webster Volunteer Fire Department member Bruce A. Thayer. Webster: Friday, September 15, 2023, age 83. Predeceased by his wife, Sandra. He leaves his sons, Jeff (Sandy) and Jim (Cheri); grandchildren, Kim (Dan) Collins, Jessica (Hunter) Hampton and Cory (Kamillah) Thayer; great-grandchildren, River and Ryleigh Hampton; siblings, Keith (Nancy) Thayer, Nancy (Robert) Krull, Carol Dorfner and Craig (Cathy) Thayer; nieces and nephews. A retiree of Monroe County Water Authority, Bruce was a 60+ year member of the Webster Volunteer Fire Dept. Friends may call 4-7 PM Monday, September 25 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where his Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 26. Interment, Webster Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Webster Comfort Care Home, 700 Holt Rd., Webster, NY 14580.

I always enjoyed my time with Bruce. He was such an overall nice guy and always made me laugh. Godspeed Bruce....You will be missed.

I was fortunate enough to have a very nice conversation with Mr. Thayer several months ago when he came into the fire department after not being there for quite some time. We talked about family and how proud he was. It was a nice conversation and it was wonderful to see him and give him a hug. He very gentle soul, a great man one I will miss very much.
