MEDIA RELEASE JULY 16th, 2026
WEBSTER FIREMANS PARADE CANCELLATION WEBSTER, NY 14580

We regret to announce that a decision was made to cancel tonight's Webster Firemen's Parade. We will not be rescheduling it. The carnival however, will still occur, starting at 6:00 PM.
The decision to cancel the parade was made out of an abundance of caution and with the
health and safety of parade participants, spectators, volunteers, and public safety personnel as the primary consideration. Current air quality conditions have reached levels that may pose health risks, particularly for children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and those with heart or lung conditions.
The Webster Volunteer Fire Department has been closely monitoring air quality conditions throughout the day in coordination with local officials and neighboring agencies. While we understand this decision is disappointing to many community members and visiting fire departments, the safety of all those involved must remain our highest priority.
We would like to thank the many departments, organizations, volunteers, and residents who planned to participate in this evening's event. We also appreciate the support and cooperation of our neighboring agencies as we monitored conditions and evaluated available information.
The Webster Volunteer Fire Department encourages residents to continue monitoring local weather and air quality advisories and to limit outdoor activity as recommended by public health officials.
For updates, please follow the Webster Volunteer Fire Department's official social media channels.
