| On Thursday, June 4, 2026, at about 10:55 a.m., the Webster Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire at 1640 Harris Road in Webster, NY. The Penfield, West Webster, and Lincoln Fire Departments also assisted at the scene. When the first crews arrived, they found a large single-family home at the end of a long private driveway with heavy fire visible in the garage, spreading into the living areas. Firefighters quickly began to fight the fire and brought it under control. The fire was fully extinguished within about 40 minutes. Due to the hot weather and challenges accessing the property, support was requested from the Ontario and Fairport Fire Departments. The Monroe County Fire Bureau, Monroe County Sheriff's Office, and Penfield Ambulance also provided assistance on scene. Fire crews remained at the property for about three and a half hours to investigate the fire and put out any remaining hot spots. The homeowner was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. No firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Steve Kozak, Fire Chief |
