The North East Joint Fire District has installed publicly accessible naloxone boxes at each of their fire stations. The District was contacted in early September by Janine Sanger, the Executive Director of the Webster Health & Education Network. (WHEN) Janine advised that WHEN was collaborating with the Monroe County Department of Health and the IMPACT Team to increase the public accessibility of naloxone (Narcan) in the Webster community. On September 20, 2023, the Board of Fire Commissioners of the North East Joint Fire District unanimously approved installing the naloxone boxes at each of their fire stations.

The naloxone boxes are currently installed at the main entrances of all three NEJFD fire stations and are accessible 24 hours a day.

Station #1 (Enderlin)
35 South Avenue
Webster, NY 14580

Station #2 (Roseland)
1391 Salt Road
Webster, NY 14580

Station #3 (North)
600 Phillips Road
Webster, NY 14580

Each box contains six Narcan kits and each kit contains two doses of naloxone nasal spray. Simple instructions are also included. The boxes will be monitored by NEJFD staff and resupplied as needed by the Monroe County Department of Health.

As the Nation’s opioid epidemic continues, the NEJFD is appreciative for the opportunity to be assisting in the effort to make this life-saving medicine available to as many people as possible.
