On Thanksgiving evening Webster firefighters were dispatched for the report of a barn fire in the area of 300 Phillips Rd. Firefighters responded immediately as they were returning from 2 previous alarms in the District. The District Chief went on scene reporting heavy fire from a 2 story structure with additional exposures in imminent danger and requested a 2nd alarm.

Firefighters went to work protecting the exposures while working to extinguish the fire in the structure of origin. A large 2 story barn-like structure became well involved. This structure contained a 2 story apartment and 2 car garage. An aggressive interior attack held the fire to the apartment and prevented further spread to the main residence less than 3 feet away.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Monroe County Fire Bureau. Assistance on scene was provided by West Webster FD, Ridge Culver FD, Penfield FD, Fairport FD, Brighton FD, Webster Ambulance and NEQ ALS. Lincoln FD, Ontario FD, and Brighton FD provided coverage to the District.
