The North East Joint Fire District recently completed the new training and storage structure located at the Roseland Station at Salt and Plank Roads. This project has been in the planning stages for over a year and construction began in late August, 2019.

The 4200 square foot building will serve as a training facility for the Webster Volunteer Fire Department and provide much needed storage space for the North East Joint Fire District. The training portion includes, but is not limited to, a roof ventilation/operations simulator, forcible door entry simulator, a ground ladder trainer and a large space for the construction of a self-contained breathing apparatus maze. The maze will provide vital simulated training for our firefighters and will include a partial second story for rescue training evolutions. The training structure can also be used for many other types of training including vehicle extrication, hydrant work, ventilation and salvage & overhaul.

Chief Robert Boutillier has charged a ‘Maze Committee’ to design and build the SCBA maze. The Maze Committee, consisting of several Webster Volunteer Firefighters, is currently in the planning stages. Construction of the multi-use SCBA maze is expected to begin soon.

The Building Committee included Commissioners Hoffman and Rinebold, Assistant Chief Vorndran, Captain Dake and Director Steve Small served as the Project Manager.
