On Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at approximately 11:13 AM, the Webster Fire Department was dispatched to the 1400 block of Harris Road for a reported barn fire. Shortly after the initial dispatch responding units were advised that there were multiple reports coming in for the barn on fire. 1C10 arrived and declared a working fire in a two-story accessory barn structure. Arriving units found heavy fire in the structure and numerous hand lines and an aerial master stream were put into operation.
The fire took approximately 25 minutes to bring under control and the structure and contents sustained severe damage. One Webster firefighter was injured battling the fire and was treated and released at the scene. The Webster Fire Department was assisted at the scene and were provided fill-in services from the departments of West Webster, Lincoln, Penfield and Ontario. Penfield Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
The investigation is being conducted by the Monroe County Fire Bureau.
